Terms and Conditions
These terms explain the fair rules for using FarmShift.
1. Using FarmShift
By using FarmShift, you accept these terms. You must provide accurate account details, protect your credentials and ensure authorised farm members follow these terms. You may not misuse the service, bypass security, scrape protected content, disrupt the platform or upload unlawful material.
2. Trial and plans
Every package may start with a 30-day free trial arranged directly with FarmShift. After the trial, continued access is arranged directly with FarmShift through a monthly debit order or annual access paid in advance. Annual access gives 12 months of access for the cost of 10 monthly payments.
3. Changes and cancellation
Upgrades can take effect immediately when arranged with FarmShift. Downgrades can apply from the next billing cycle. You may cancel at any time without a penalty. Paid access continues until the end of the paid month, then export access remains available for 60 days so records can be downloaded before active access closes.
4. Farm members and roles
A farm Owner controls the farm profile and may appoint multiple Administrators and Users within plan limits. Owners and Administrators are responsible for granting suitable access and removing people or devices that should no longer have access. Role restrictions improve control but do not replace proper farm procedures.
5. Silo farm assistant
Silo provides built-in farm support for search, navigation, summaries, category suggestions, notes, reminders and workflow guidance. Users remain responsible for checking important information and confirming any record before it is saved.
6. Weather, markets and calculations
Weather, market information, alerts and calculations support operational decisions but are not professional, financial, agronomic, veterinary or safety advice. External data may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable. FarmShift does not invent missing values. Users remain responsible for checking conditions, labels, laws and source information before acting.
7. Records, scans and exports
You remain responsible for the accuracy, legality and readability of records you capture. Scanned slips and documents can be filed by category and prepared for CSV or PDF export where supported. Check every scan before filing and retain original documents where law, accounting practice, warranty or insurance requires them.
8. Availability and third parties
FarmShift is provided on an available basis. Maintenance, connectivity, mapping, weather, market, email, authentication and infrastructure providers may affect service. Google sign-in and other third-party services have their own terms.
9. Intellectual property
FarmShift, its software, branding and original materials remain protected by applicable intellectual property law. Your farm data remains yours. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, back up and deliver the service to you.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by South African law, FarmShift is not liable for indirect, consequential or operational losses arising from reliance on unavailable, delayed or incorrect information. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any aggregate liability is limited to fees paid for the affected service during the preceding three months, subject to applicable consumer law.
11. South African law
These terms are governed by South African law. Before formal proceedings, the parties should try in good faith to resolve a dispute through written notice and reasonable discussion. Consumer rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
12. Information you send us
When you complete the access request form or contact us, you give us the details needed to reply and to prepare a suitable setup. You confirm the details are yours or that you are authorised to supply them, and that they are accurate. Do not send passwords, PINs, recovery codes, banking card numbers or other secrets through the form.
13. Acceptable use and account security
You are responsible for everything done under your account and registered devices. You must keep credentials, quick PINs and devices secure, report suspected unauthorised access without delay, and remove members or devices that no longer need access. We may suspend or limit access immediately where we reasonably suspect unauthorised use, security risk, fraudulent activity, unpaid access or conduct that threatens the service or other users.
14. Your own records and backups
FarmShift keeps working backups of the platform, but you remain responsible for keeping your own copies of records that are critical to your business, tax, warranty, insurance or legal position. Use the export tools regularly. We are not responsible for records that were never captured, were captured incorrectly, or were deleted by a member of your own farm.
15. Reminders, alerts and notifications
Reminders, alerts and notifications are convenience features. Delivery depends on your device, operating system, network, notification permissions and third-party services, so delivery cannot be guaranteed. Never rely on a reminder alone for a legal deadline, a safety-critical action, a medicine or chemical withdrawal period, or a financial obligation.
16. Indemnity
You agree to hold FarmShift harmless against claims, losses, fines or costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, your breach of these terms, inaccurate or unlawful information you capture or upload, or decisions taken by you or your farm members based on records, calculations or third-party data shown in the app.
17. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including load shedding, network or hosting outages, cable or equipment failure, cyber attack, supplier failure, natural disaster, strike or changes in law.
18. Contact and changes
We may update these terms as FarmShift develops. Material changes will be communicated reasonably, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions may be sent through the Support page. Last updated: 18 September 2026.
